Danielle Quarmby

My name is Danielle, also known as Danielle Q, dQ or Auntie Dan, and I think I'm an artist - or something like that! I'm a 27 year-old mum of two - Sienna, age 4, and my 2 year old son Ash. Happily married for 9 years to my computer nerd hubby Ben.

As a child I spent most of my time pretending to be a flower fairy (the Cicely M. Barker variety), or involved in some other imaginary world with my best friend. If I wasn't pretending something, I was reading - at lunchtime, while walking home from school, wherever. My love of photography began when I was 11 or 12 years old with a plastic camera from a show bag! Painting and poetry became a passion from about the same age, so scrapbooking was a natural fit when my big sister Kelly Ingram introduced me to it about 5 years ago.

Last year I had the honour of being a runner-up in the Memory Makers Masters competition (for U.S. mag Memory Makers), and seeing my first feature articles published in Scrapbook Creations mag. I'm on the DT at Kiti Q, I run Q Tea Kits (http://qteakits.blogspot.com/) and offer photography services and the occasional bit of graphic design on a (very) casual basis. My spare time(?!) is spent on recipe development and website services for Outback Pride (http://www.outbackpride.com.au/), acting as the Treasurer for Sienna's pre-school, scrapbooking - of course! - painting and singing loudly all over the house while I attempt to control the chaos in which we live. A futile endeavour, I must admit. But that's me :)
