Clair Bremner

My name is Clair and i am 27. I live in Melbourne with my husband Luke and our two rugrats Koby (6) and Charlee (3.5). For as long as I can remember I have been an artist. My mother use to own her own ceramics store where she not only created works to sell but also taught ceramics to students. She was always very interested in all forms of art and craft, so I grew up learning paint with watercolor, do folk art, sew from a young age, painting with acrylics and oils, drawing, knitting, stitching... you name it, my mother and I tried it at some stage.

Since I have become and adult I have managed to reign in the need to try everything and I have been focusing on three main crafts for a few years now. Photography is my true passion and I have been running my own photography business for almost four years now. It is a wonderful way for me unleash my personal style and creativity while earning an income and having a young family at the same time.

Next comes scrapbooking, Scrapping completely fulfills my passion for all things paper. As a child I would love nothing more than wandering up and down the stationary section of newsagents drooling over all the pretty writing sets, diaries, post-it-notes and pens.  I've been scrapping for about three years now, I have been published several times in a few of the major Australian magazines and I have also had the pleasure of being involved with several design teams including Blue Bazaar (with the lovely Kate Mason) and I am also on the paper manufacturer October Afternoon.

My third passion is sewing but unfortunately I'm finding I have less and less time to indulge myself. I have an obsession with vintage fabrics and often scour local op shops for old sheets and pillowcases to refashion into clothes for my kids. I also use a lot of vintage patterns to make unique and individual clothes for my daughter.

I'm the kind of person that can't really just sit and do nothing, so when I'm not editing photos, scrapping or sewing I'm usually sitting in front of the TV knitting or crocheting something while my mind goes crazy with a hundred ideas i want to try the next day LOL.

Clair's gallery will be coming soon
