to Ruby St Designs.

My grandmother was the quintessential stall lady - sewing for her bowls stall for over forty years. One of my earliest memories is accompanying her to town to visit the haberdashery store Leuteneggers which was then situated in Brisbane City. I can still remember the feeling of excitement walking up those old mahogany stairs into rows and rows of textile heaven. My mother is an artist and growing up, I was surrounded by, and continue to be surrounded by women who are passionate about fine art, colour, textiles and a deep desire to create. I have always loved "old things", by the time I was twenty my love of vintage had well and truly taken hold and with a baby in tow could be found at markets selling vintage frocks and accessories.

The chance find of a vintage street sign, the vision of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (click those ruby heels together and anything is possible) and a love of papercrafts has evolved into Ruby St Designs, a small family run business dedicated to sourcing vintage and unusual treasures for collage, cardmaking, altered art and scrapbooking.

We hope our wares inspire and delight you.
